The council of the town approved “The principles of announcing the best sportsmen and personalities in the field of sport” on its session on 16th October 2007.
As traditionally, the announcement of the most successful sportsmen and sport personalities took place in Kojetín. The full hall of the Sokol house witnessed the presentation of 26 sportsmen and 2 teams in the frame of the following categories: The sport hope, Individuals under the age of 19, Individuals above the age of 19, Sport collective and Personality. It was for the third time that a representative of professional sport art participated. Following the example of Martina Sáblíková and Tomáš Dvořák, ralley drivers Václav Pech and Petr Uhel accepted the invitation this year and together with the town mayor handed over the prizes to the awarded sportsmen.
Since it is sometimes complicated to compare sport performance in different sport branches, age-groups, teams and so on, the announcement of the sportsmen and the personalities is rather an appreciation of their current sport results or long-term loyal work in the field of sport. None the less, the successful representatives showed themselves in a top form, especially then Jana Nakládalová in minigolf, successful canoeists Katka Kavulová, Marie Braunerová, Dušan Ševčík a Milan Hrudík or the dragon ships’ crew. We are pleased with the budding footballers and all the personalities who dedicated and dedicate themselves to sport and thanks to whom successful sportsmen grow up. Because a motto “The movement is life” governs in Kojetín.The declared sportsman:

On Monday, April the 30th, 2007 tool place the announcement of sport personalities of the town of Kojetín of the year 2006 in the Sokol house. As a guest of honour, Czech representative in decathlon Tomáš Dvořák was present and handed over the rewards and gifts to the nominated sportsmen. In addition, he brought his javelin and discus to show and turned out to be an agreeable companion. In spite of his full schedule, this multiple world champion and record holder found time to pay a visit among the sportsmen of Kojetín. In the end, the awards were given to Alena Pátková for winning the world championship in radio orientation running and to PhDr. František Řezáč for the whole-life activity in the field of sport. The In Memoriam prizes to Lubomír Juřen and Miroslava Kopřivová for their contribution to the physical education and sport in Kojetín were received by Jarmila Juřenová and the children of Miroslava Kopřivová.
