Culture in Kojetín

Kojetín overflows with cultural and ethnical traditions. Among those showing great activity count the companies called Hanácká beseda, Hanácká scéna and a creative group The Signal 64, which local artists are engaged in.

Among the most important cultural events of the town ranks the traditional ball called Hanácké bál, which is regularly held by the ethnical company Hanácká beseda by The Municipal centre for culture, and the regional contest known as The competition of amateur theatre companies.

       

The town endeavours as well to revive the almost forgotten traditions, just remind the annual Kojetín feast taking place in the middle of august. It is the question of a three-day event with traditionally various programme, satisfying every age-group. The Kojetín feast reaches its peak with the Sunday festivities. That is when a spectacular procession of Hanaks with the Kings’ parade is passing through the town, the town mayor is handing over the Feast right to the celebrating gathering of Hanaks and innumerable ethnical companies are being displayed on the stage by turns.
